The Traveling Troupe

The Traveling Troupe offers workshops and performances for school groups, library programming, arts organizations, civic groups, and special community events.  All of the Traveling Troupe members are adults with disabilities with many years of experience as performers. They are paid for their work as professional actors with the Traveling Troupe.

Their workshop on Disability Justice includes role plays, conversations about inclusion, exclusion, being an advocate for one's self and others, belonging, and ways to “claim one’s life” with pride and confidence. The workshop ends with an interactive empowerment song that all are invited to sing together.

The Troupe also offers theatrical performances that include puppetry, stories about pursuing one's dreams, love, and connection.

Participants, with and without disabilities, who have attended presentations by the Traveling Troupe have expressed how much they enjoyed the experience as well as appreciated what they learned.
